Dear Prayer Partners,

Yes, we are still here and have completed four years in Argentina. What our great God is doing here in this ministry is very exciting to see. We can only do what we do here because of your faithfulness in support with prayer and finances. We thank the Lord for you. I hope we can visit with all of you in Europe later this year and in the USA in 2010.

On the last day of 2007 I baptized two more. On the first day of 2008 the Iglesia Bautista de Ruca Choroi ( Ruca Choroi Baptist Church) was started. Ruca Choroi is the name of the place the Church is in. It is Mapuche for Home of Parrots. We are meeting in Mauricio’s old house.

We have had a high of 25 for services, but of course, not all find this good news. The Pentecostal groups have again threatened the people with violence if we continue to have services which caused numbers to drop. The blessing has been that through this the new chief was presented a Bible and given testimony of what we are doing for the Lord in the community. Please pray that the people will listen to the Truth of the Word of God. Only the Bible can set them free from the fear used by the Devil to keep them in bondage.

I am carefully visiting houses as God opens the doors. Many still do not understand my Spanish and some are still hostile toward me. For example, I was warned not to visit a certain house because the man said he would kill me. I walked into another house to find this man standing there with a large knife in his hand. Like I said, it is exciting here. Turned out he was cutting up a lamb on the table, but it was obvious he did not want me there. These families are patriarchal with a grandfather in charge of the extended family. Pray that I can also reach some of these men soon.

On one Saturday I was able to help five people confess with their mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in their heart that God hath raised Him from the dead. One was from the other community close to our town, and then three of these were grandchildren of the man that wanted me dead. With this I was able to start teaching Bible in a second group. Pray that God gives me wisdom with these families and a way to start a work in our town and the neighboring communities.

The new vehicle has been a blessing and I have been able to take many to our services to hear the Word of God preached. The bad news is that the brakes went out and I have not been able to fix it yet. My feet hurt. Fewer come when I do not have the vehicle because they will not get the free rides to town which is very valuable to them. Also, I cannot take people to the services, nor can I make the much needed visits. Pray that this is resolved before too long.

Pray for our Pastor and his wife. Mrs. Miller has had some very serious medical set backs. She is now back home but needs much help as she recovers from these health problems. Pray for Pastor Miller’s wisdom and strength. He is the great Pastor he is because of how much he loves his people, children, and above all his wife. He lives Ephesians 5:25.

Thank all of you for praying for Cheri’s health. She recovered from the staff infection, but when we went for her surgery for gall stones, she was anemic. She will be having another surgery 3-4 April to stop the problems with anemia and then, if all goes well, the gall stones will be taken out in a few months. The big fear in all of this is the possibility of staff infections returning. We now have to find people to give B+ or O+ blood so the operation can be done.
