| A person can surely know if they're saved. If they have done what the scriptures say to receive salvation through trusting in Christ's death for our sins as the only way heaven, they will see changes in their life. They will see new things happen in their life. Here is a examination of some of those new things:
A NEW belief
1 John 5:10 "He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. 11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. 12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
A NEW interest in God’s people.
1 John 3:14 "We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death. 15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. 16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren." The "brethern" are other "saved" people.
A NEW Master
John 10:25 "Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me. 26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand."
A NEW Life
2 Cor 5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ , he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." The new life will include things that you never thought you would do. You will also find you no longer have a desire to do many of the wrong things you used to do, or even have a conviction against doing them.
A NEW Trust
II Tim 1:12 "For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day."
A NEW fruit — NEW interests
Gal. 5:22 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit." When the Spirit of God indwells us, there are some things He wants done in our lives and around us.These changes that we allow Him to do in us and with us, are proofs of our salvation.
